About the Awards

Both awards are based solely on publicly available quality scores. The high standards for excellence and improvement set forth in the awards criteria means that recipients are truly outstanding in their commitment to promoting optimal medication outcomes for patients.

PQA Laura Cranston Excellence in Quality Award

Medicare Advantage Prescription Drug Plan (MA-PD) contracts must have achieved an overall summary rating of at least 4.5-stars and a 5-star rating on PQA measures used within the Part D Star Ratings. Part D Prescription Drug Plan (PDP) contracts must have achieved an overall summary rating of at least 4.5-stars and at least a 4-star rating on PQA measures used within the Part D Star Ratings.

PQA Laura Cranston Quality Improvement Award

Recipients must have achieved a 5-star rating on the Medicare Advantage and Part D Star Ratings improvement measure and the greatest combined improvement from the previous year to current year on PQA measures used within the Part D Star Ratings.
