Partner With Us to Advance Medication Use Quality

PQA is proud to collaborate in research efforts with industry experts through our Quality Innovation and Research Center (QuIRC) to advance medication use quality. Research partners and funders that support PQA’s research aims include academic institutions, private industry, government agencies and non-profit organizations. Importantly, PQA engages patients, caregivers and persons with lived experience to ensure this valuable perspective is represented in research.

QuIRC Expertise

To address some of the most difficult issues surrounding medication use quality, the Center brings together the expertise needed to:

  • Prioritize initiatives aligned with national quality goals to address quality gaps in medication use
  • Generate evidence to support quality measurement and medication use quality
  • Address challenges and provide solutions for improving medication use and medication management services

PQA’s interdisciplinary team has expertise in health services research, quality measurement, public health, biostatistics, pharmacy, nursing, gerontology and communications.

Research Independence & Integrity

The independence and integrity of PQA’s research and related activities constitute the PQA Quality Innovation and Research Center’s principal assets. PQA undertakes projects aligned with its mission to improve the quality of medication use, and as a trusted, neutral entity does not conduct proprietary research. The independence and integrity of PQA research and activities such as pilot projects, program evaluation, policy analysis, and quality improvement are paramount. As such, project funders do not have any direct input into project design, including but not limited to research methods and evaluation, at any point during project planning or execution.

Quality Innovation & Research Center Advisory Committee

The QuIRC Advisory Committee represents PQA’s multistakeholder membership and provides external counsel to ensure that the Center serves PQA’s mission. The Advisory Committee provides input and guidance to PQA staff on:

  • Strategic priorities and goals
  • Project alignment with PQA’s mission, non-profit status and strategic plan
  • Identifying and mitigating potential conflicts of interest
  • Funding and dissemination opportunities related to the project portfolio and pipeline

Committee members are selected to serve a three-year term and may have the option to continue for a second three-year term.

Collaborate With Us

When considering new opportunities, PQA leverages established relationships with previous project partners and identifies new partners where complementary skill sets and goals align. A Request for Interest (RFI) process is sometimes used to identify interested organizations that are well positioned to participate in PQA research initiatives. This approach presents opportunities for PQA member organizations and other stakeholders to be considered for inclusion in PQA research.
