PQA Leadership Summit: Convening National Leaders in Quality Medication Use

For 20 years, PQA has brought together leaders from across health care to advance quality medication use. PQA’s strength has been its ability to unite stakeholders around a common purpose and create opportunities for the many diverse stakeholders with a role in the medication use process.

That tradition is reflected in the PQA Leadership Summit, which PQA first hosted in 2010. Through the years, the summit has provided a forum for PQA members and health care leaders to explore emerging issues, share diverse perspectives and work together to address challenges affecting quality medication use.

As the health care landscape has evolved, so have the conversations taking place at the summit, from quality measurement and performance improvement to value-based care, health equity and other emerging opportunities for medication management services and quality.

Since 2021, the summit’s focus has become even sharper, leveraging our members’ insights to inform PQA’s five-year and annual strategies to drive quality medication use.

Looking Ahead: The 2026 PQA Leadership Summit

The 2026 PQA Leadership Summit, which will take place November 5-6 in Arlington, Va.,will continue this tradition with an interactive, hands-on meeting focusing on PQA’s work to develop a national recognition program for pharmacies that consistently deliver high-quality care and demonstrate readiness for value-based arrangements.

This year’s summit will explore PQA’s in-development Pharmacy Quality Recognition Program (PQRP). Representatives from community pharmacies, health plans, health care leaders and the PQA team will discuss the program, its creation and potential.

As PQA celebrates its 20th anniversary, the Leadership Summit represents more than another opportunity to convene. It reflects a central part of PQA’s history: bringing leaders together to tackle shared challenges, exchange ideas and advance the future of quality.
