Recommendations for Improving Adult Vaccination Rates and Reporting within Community Pharmacy Practice
This white paper provides best practice recommendations for improving adult vaccination rates and reporting. The intended audience for this white paper includes pharmacists practicing in community settings. This white paper was developed by the PQA Adult Immunization Task Force and reviewed through a consensus-based process. The task force was sponsored by Pfizer.
Through a consensus-based process, the task force identified five key focus areas:
- immunization screening;
- documentation and reporting;
- vaccine services prioritization;
- community pharmacy personnel vaccination; and
- cost and reimbursement barrier minimization.
The task force was convened because pharmacists are perfectly poised to improve performance on evolving immunization metrics given their scope of practice.
