Behind PQA’s Education Programs: The Role of the Education Advisory Council

The Pharmacy Quality Alliance’s educational programs are designed to advance knowledge and strengthen skills that improve medication use quality. Through initiatives such as the Medication Use Quality Certificate (MUQC), the Annual Meeting, the Leadership Summit, and the Quality Forum Webinar series, PQA brings together experts and innovators to share best practices and emerging approaches to medication safety, adherence, and appropriate use.

Behind these educational offerings is an important group of dedicated volunteers: the Education Advisory Council (EAC). Composed of medication use quality experts representing a broad range of stakeholder perspectives and practice settings, the EAC plays a critical role in ensuring that PQA’s educational programs remain timely, relevant and responsive to our members needs.

Throughout the year, EAC members provide guidance on educational themes, emerging topics and speaker recommendations for PQA’s educational offerings. Their insights help shape in-person, on-demand and virtual programming. As an advisory body, the EAC offers valuable feedback and recommendations that inform PQA staff’s development of educational programming and ensure that the member voice remains central to our work.

In addition to advising on educational content, EAC members contribute their expertise by reviewing and scoring Annual Meeting session submissions and serving as judges at the Annual Meeting poster session. Their commitment and engagement help maintain the high quality and impact of PQA’s educational offerings.

PQA is grateful for the dedication and expertise of our Education Advisory Council members and looks forward to their continued partnership. PQA is actively seeking additional members to join the EAC. If you are passionate about advancing medication use quality and want to make a meaningful impact, we strongly encourage you to consider serving on the EAC.
