Navigating Vaccine Schedule Confusion
Competing vaccine schedules from federal agencies and nonfederal medical societies have created confusion. For pharmacists, whose scope of practice, insurance billing, and liability protections are often tied directly to ACIP action, the resulting patchwork carries direct clinical consequences. CVS Health‘s Sandra Leal explains that to maintain patient trust, listening, understanding concerns, and engaging with empathy instead of judgement is essential. Encouraging individuals to receive recommended vaccinations is an important part of health advocacy.

Filling Healthcare Gaps
Amazon Pharmacy‘s Tanvi Patel shares insights on how the company fills healthcare gaps. “In pharmacy, Patel said, “the sobering fact is one in three scripts that are written in this country are just not picked up. And they’re not picked up when you look at the root cause for two reasons: they don’t know the cost or they don’t know if they’re going to be able to afford it and access. They just can’t get that medication conveniently.”

Addressing Barriers to Care
McKesson‘s Nimesh Jhaveri discusses opportunities to improve access, affordability and adherence. Artificial intelligence and advanced analytics are helping simplify care journeys, reduce administrative burden and improve patient experience. This makes it easier for patients to access therapies and services and get needed medications faster.
