Managing Chronic Disease
Elevance Chief Health Officer and PQA Board Member Shantanu Agrawal shares insights on managing chronic disease. “By bringing together medical, pharmacy, behavioral health, and social data, organizations can identify gaps in care, recognize opportunities for earlier intervention, and offer timely, personalized support before a missed screening, medication lapse, or unmanaged symptoms become a more serious health event.”

Combating Vaccine Misinformation
Prime Therapeutics‘ Pat Gleason is incoming AMCP president. Combating vaccine misinformation will be a priority of his term. He sees AMCP as a leading voice for using sound scientific evidence so that folks can get medications and vaccines at prices they can afford. Beyond vaccines, “I will strive to increase the development and use of high-quality, real-world evidence in managed care pharmacy decision making.”

Evaluating Specialty Pharmacies
Sandra Canally, CEO of The Compliance Team, said, “the best specialty pharmacies consistently deliver high-quality, patient-centered care that is coordinated across pharmacists, prescribers, nurses and other healthcare providers. … Pharmacies with a proactive rather than reactive approach build strong clinical relationships with their patients and across their healthcare team.
